Darryl Abbott
President

Most recently, as founding partner of a number of renewable private equity funds, Darryl structured and provided capital to multiple investment vehicles by partnering with other solar developers to source power purchase agreements with the Ontario Power Authority. He then led a development team to build and connect solar assets with a long-term operational objective. These funds now own and operate hundreds of operating solar projects across the province.
As a founding partner and President of Sculler, Darryl partnered with another firm to raise capital, purchase and manage investments in Canadian CMBS which included specific securities, B-notes and the only collateralized debt obligation made with Canadian securities. Some of these real estate-based securities are considered the most complicated securitised investments in the Canadian market.
Before becoming an entrepreneur in his capital management and asset development businesses, Darryl spent more than a decade lending directly to corporate and commercial clients both domestic and international. His experience also extends to private equity and investment banking where he has worked with private, boutique firms. Darryl has obtained an Honours degree in Finance, a Master’s in Accountancy and is also a CFA charter holder.
